Plaid Cymru MS Urges Post Office To Come To Decision Over Caerphilly Post Office

Plaid Cymru Senedd Member Lindsay Whittle  has urged the Post Office to make a decision on a new operator for  the Caerphilly town centre Post Office which closes at the end of this week.

Lindsay Whittle pressed the issue when the Post Office hosted a display at the Senedd this week.

Lindsay Whittle said: “The Post Office needs to sort this out as a matter of urgency. They’ve had many months of notice that the post office at TJ Jones in Castle Court was closing.

“I understand two businesses in the town centre offered their premises as the site for a new office. Post Office officials have visited both, so it’s time they made a decision.

“The closure of the post office in the centre of town is very inconvenient for people as they will have to travel either to Castle View or Penyrheol which is quite a distance for some.

“The public needs a statement from the Post Office setting out the current position and detailing when a new office will open.”
